Carnival Splendor Location & Itineraries
The Carnival Splendor currently sets sail from the picturesque port of Long Beach, California, offering incredible itineraries that cater to various tastes. This summer, you can embark on an amazing 14-day Alaskan adventure, a round-trip journey from Long Beach that promises awe-inspiring sites. Highlights include majestic Hubbard Glacier and a full day’s visit to Icy Strait Point, an untouched wilderness area renowned for some of the best whale watching and bear viewing in the state and even the world’s longest zip-line. This particular voyage departs Long Beach on August 25th and returns on September 8th, 2018.
In addition to the full day at Hubbard Glacier and Icy Strait Point, this 14-day Alaska cruise features spectacular destinations such as Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, and Sitka, Alaska, along with a day-long call at Victoria, British Columbia. Each of these ports offers unique cultural opportunities, historical landmarks, and breathtaking natural wonders, including calving glaciers, magnificent fjords, and abundant marine and wildlife. A wide variety of shore excursions are available, ranging from thrilling helicopter flightseeing tours and rainforest canopy adventures to serene hiking, canoeing, kayaking expeditions, and even alpine lake snorkeling, ensuring an unforgettable experience for every adventurer.
The 14-day Carnival Journeys Alaska cruise also elevates the onboard experience with unique activities where guests can delve into local cuisine, enjoy regional entertainment, and explore cultural opportunities tied to the various ports of call. Special activities focusing on topics like photography, cooking, and arts and crafts are offered, alongside a nostalgic 1980s-themed “Throwback Sea Day” that promises fun for all.
Looking ahead, the Carnival Splendor will reposition to Sydney in 2019, proudly becoming the newest and largest ship to be based year-round in Australia. Before this exciting move, the Carnival Splendor will undergo a significant bow-to-stern upgrade, adding new features specifically catering to Australian guests. These enhancements will include a variety of new dining experiences tailored to local tastes and a brand-new waterpark, further cementing its status as a premier cruise option. The 113,300-ton vessel will make its maiden voyage from Sydney in December 2019, following a repositioning cruise from Singapore. Currently, the Carnival Splendor operates popular seven-day Mexican Riviera voyages and longer-length cruises to Alaska and Hawaii from its Long Beach, California homeport.

The Carnival Splendor embarked on its inaugural cruise on July 2, 2008, beginning its journey as a beloved “Fun Ship” in the Carnival fleet.
